Healthcare Florida Member Pat Sheran-Diaz Goes to the White House

Nurse Member participated in White House Spanish-Language Town Hall on H1N1 Virus (Swine Flu)
Patricia Sheran-Diaz, RN, a University Hospital nurse and SEIU Healthcare Florida member, participated in an important White House outreach initiative on the H1N1 (Swine Flu) virus on Friday, May 8, 2009.

The town hall, which was open to press and broadcasted on Univision, is part of an outreach effort to ensure the community gets accurate information about this public health concern, which will be important both in the remaining days of this pandemic, as well as to maximize preparation for whatever the next public health challenge will be.

The panel will included Spanish-speaking Administration representatives from involved agencies, including the Centers for Disease Control, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Labor and the White House.  Univision’s weekend anchor, Edna Schmidt, will moderate, and Univision will air segments of the town hall on several national news programs, reaching an estimated 13 million viewers.   See release from The White House Office of Media Affairs below.
